My Daily Life in Egypt
Every day in Egypt is full of simple and fun routines. In the morning, my mother buys baladi bread before breakfast. My father and I drink sugarcane juice when it's hot in the summer. When the clothes are clean, I help by hanging the laundry. I also fold clean clothes and put away the groceries. At home, we all help with housework. Sometimes I do the dishes and dust the rug. I enjoy helping my family, and I feel happy when everything is clean and tidy.
Living the Nubian life
The Nubian people live in southern Egypt along the Nile River. Their homes are built from mud bricks and are painted in bright, cheerful colors. They speak both Arabic and Nubian languages and enjoy music and dancing. Many Nubians work as farmers while others create beautiful crafts to sell. Nubian women wear colorful dresses, and men wear traditional galabeyas. Their language is an important part of their identity, and they take great pride in their rich history.
Voices from our villages
In Egypt, there are many beautiful villages. People in each village do different jobs. In Omar's village, the fishermen go out in boats and use small fishing nets to catch fish. In Amina's village, the people are fishermen too. Salma's village is full of farms, and the farmers harvest the crops every year. In Hassan's village, his family spins wool and weaves it on looms to make carpets. Life in the village is peaceful and the people work hard every day. I think village life is interesting because people help each other and enjoy their work.
