As Faria's health deteriorates, he entrusts Edmond with the map to the Monte Cristo treasure, urging him to use it for justice, not vengeance. After Faria's death, Edmond, though heartbroken, vows to escape, claim the treasure, and honor his mentor's legacy.

Rescued by smugglers, he adopts a false identity and patiently awaits an opportunity to reach Monte Cristo. Once there, guided by Faria's map, he unearths the immense treasure of gold, jewels, and artifacts. In this moment, Edmond Dantès, the sailor, is "reborn" as the powerful Count of Monte Cristo, determined to use his new wealth for justice and to reward those who helped him, while punishing those who betrayed him.
