Fogg and Passepartout then board the train for Calcutta, with Fix still in pursuit.

During the journey, they encounter an unconscious young woman named Aouda. Fogg, risking precious time, decides to rescue her. Despite losing money and time, Fogg gains "a human life saved." They eventually reach the completed railway and board a train to Calcutta with Aouda.
